Thirty Years of Being Wrong About Business
Ten things I was confident about and wrong about, and what each one cost.
Anyone welcome: business owners, creatives, people who want to start a business, friends, etc.
Who I am.
I'm 56, I live in Northwest Georgia, and I've spent about thirty years working for myself. Long enough to know I'm not the smartest person in most rooms, and that it usually costs me more when I forget that.
I'm not an expert and I don't teach. I'm just somebody who kept showing up, paid for a lot of lessons the slow way, and doesn't mind telling you about them. Ask me a direct question and you'll get a direct answer, even when the answer is that I got it wrong.
Any day I can, I'm on the water with a rod in my hand. That's where I think best, and where I'm reminded that most of what feels urgent really isn't.

What I do.
I run BrandLyft, a marketing agency in Northwest Georgia, where we help local and multi-location businesses get found and follow up fast enough to actually win the job. I buy and hold real estate, which is slower than anything else I do and the part that lets me sleep. And I've started a few businesses, sold a couple, and buried one or two I'd rather not talk about. These days I put money into other people's and give advice when it's asked for. Most of what I know came from getting it wrong the first time.
You're invited.
I've been doing this about thirty years. I got a lot of it wrong, and some of it cost real money.
I made a list. I'll go through it, take questions as they come, and leave time at the end for whoever wants to talk.

What this is.
- One hour.
- No pitch, nothing to buy.
- Questions welcome.
- Just a conversation about what I learned the hard way.
Join me Thursday.
Add your email above and I'll send you the Zoom link before the webinar.
